I brought this up to an old lady once and she said “but it’s a single person bathroom I don’t have to share it with other people” and I was like … So are gender neutral bathrooms….

welshestwelshie

Plane toilets are also gender neutral. I never thought about it until I went in after a bloke.

it’s not the most efficient design, but a lot of people also like being able to have the option to use a private bathroom rather than having to share with other people.

what-even-is-thiss

There’s a gender neutral bathroom on my campus that’s just like a normal public restroom. It has two stalls in it. People go in there all the time. Trans folks, people just using the restroom, mixed groups of friends that don’t wanna stop chatting just because their pal got ink all over her hands and has to wash. I’ve been in line in there with a cis looking woman and two cis looking guys at the same time and none of us started any fights or peeked under the stalls. No fires started. The world didn’t end. It never does. People always just do their business, wash their hands, use those stupid hand dryers, and then leave. It’s that restroom that eliminated any thoughts I had about gender neutral restrooms being a bad idea. It’s just a normal restroom. The stalls still mostly hide everything. The only difference is that now you might be washing your hands next to someone of a different gender and if you pee standing up you gotta follow two extra steps (opening the door to the stall and lifting the lid). And that’s it.

There’s absolutely a place for single person restrooms but not all gender neutral restrooms are gonna be like that. And in practice the more public ones really are not a big deal.

a good evolution

lierdumoa

Memes have become so heavily context-dependent that they briefly spawned a side-phenomenon of corporations mistakenly assuming that the image combinations are simply random, and that “randomness” is what the new generation finds humorous, and then deliberately creating nonsense ads in a desperate attempt to appeal to the youth, which went on for several years before they finally started hiring younger social media managers.

DOES ANYONE REFUSE TO DO A HOBBY UNTIL YOU HAVE SPECIFIC THING? I have been wanting to paint SO BAD for the past 3 months but i refuse to do it because i want to paint with gouache. I don't have gouache. So i've been avoiding doing art for months because i'm waiting to buy myself gouache. Does anyone else feel this way? That you refuse to do something unless you have that specific thing to use a specific way????

TIL the average color of light in the universe is a shade of beige dubbed “Cosmic Latte”

via ift.tt

magicalballerinaprincess

from wikipedia: Cosmic latte is a name assigned to the average color of the universe, found by a team of astronomers from Johns Hopkins University. In 2001, Karl Glazebrook and Ivan Baldry determined that the average color of the universe was a greenish white, but they soon corrected their analysis in a 2002 paper in which they reported that their survey of the light from over 200,000 galaxies averaged to a slightly beigeish white.[2] The hex triplet value for cosmic latte is #FFF8E7.

How to Finish

I drew this poster for Jon Acuff and his FINISH book tour. Big thanks to Jon for this collaboration, his book has some great ideas about how to complete creative and life goals.

Love this, but reblogging it specifically for “Get rid of secret rules.” That’s one of the most amazing illustrations—and points—I’ve ever seen.

so important especially for perfectionists who procrastinate and never finish, or even start because they set such high standards for themselves.

one time while we were in the car andrew said “i basically think your gender is whatever robot body you would choose to have in a transhumanist future, but then again, that would make my gender a featureless floating orb” and i think about that a lot

glad this post is back because it took another two years after stating that their perfect body would be an orb for andrew to realize they’re agender
